Multi-Ply Systems

Tar & Gravel Roofs

Tar & GravelTar & gravel roofs are a type of built up roof (BURs) that have been used for more than 100 years. These roofing systems are generally composed of alternating layers of bitumen and reinforcing fabrics that create a finished membrane. For tar & gravel roofs, a final layer of asphalt and pea gravel is added to the finished BUR membrane. Multi-ply systems provide excellent durability, easy maintenance, and are relatively lightweight.

Modified Bitumen Roofs

BitumenModified bitumen roofs are composed of multi-layered laminated plies that are thicker and stronger than typical single-ply roofs. Modified bitumen roofs are better suited for high traffic industrial and commercial applications where the membrane must stand up to continual physical abuse. These systems reflect damaging ultra-violet light and reduce contraction & expansion, eliminating leaks and cracks at their seams.

Cool Roof Coatings

Cool RoofCool roofs are composed of white elastomeric roof coatings designed to reflect heat and light away from the roof. The coatings prolong the life of the roof and provide huge financial benefits by reducing air conditioning costs and equipment wear. In addition, the federal government offers tax incentives for energy-saving improvements, including cool roof coatings.
